During dormancy, the plant conserves energy and doesn't actively grow or produce new shoots or branches. However, with the arrival of spring and warmer temperatures, the plant will typically come out of dormancy and begin to show signs of growth again, such as new shoots and leaves.

This pattern is typical for many fruit trees and bushes, including those that produce fruit cocktail and like various types of berries and stone fruits. It's important to provide proper care during dormancy to ensure the plant's health and encourage robust growth when spring arrives. This might include appropriate pruning, protecting the plant from harsh weather conditions, and ensuring it receives adequate nutrients and water.
